Adam Weekly - Issue # 59
Hi, and welcome to an all new issue.
As of this past week's RAW, it seems as though Edge doesn't really have a feud. It doesn't seem likely that the Shelton Benjamin scenario will see light, at least not at this time. But last week did seem to open some doors for Edge. He and Lita of course were a part of Carlito's Cabana in a very entertaining segment. While I didn't particularly care for the joke John Cena made about Lita, the segment as a whole was pretty funny and gripping. I enjoyed the interaction between all the people involved. Edge and Kurt have always had great moments together, whether as friends or foes. Carlito is absolutely hilarious, and I wouldn't mind seeing Edge in a feud with him sometime in the future (right now wouldn't work since they're both heels). Last week was also a small taste of what a feud with the WWE Champion would be like. I knew Cena would take some potshots at Lita, but it's only natural and an obvious way to get Edge riled up. When Cena insulted Edge himself, Edge really seemed on the verge of cracking up (for evidence of that, take a look at that last new animation I added to the media section). It would have been great to hear his response, but that was obviously the champ's moment.
The six-man tag team match was decently entertaining, but the ending was a little odd, at least where Edge was concerned. It seems like he's found himself a new feud after all in the way it ended for him. Edge ran to the outside and grabbed a chair with the intention of using it, but the Big Show caught him. He chased him out to the arena floor, kicked the chair out of his hands, and knocked Edge over the guardrail into the crowd in the process. From there on until the last moments of the match, Edge, Big Show and Lita were nowhere to be seen, as they were probably all in the crowd. I imagine Lita was probably tending to her man and rushing him out of the area as the much bigger, slower Big Show was giving chase. I smell a one-on-one match between Edge and Show for tomorrow night's RAW. Hopefully, this one will go by quickly and that John Cena will be finished with Kurt Angle pretty soon. What should happen, and sooner rather than later at this point, is an Edge-Cena feud. As Edge said during the Cabana last week, he is the only one with a "guaranteed Money in the Bank title shot." It seems, though, that he'll be number one contender for the WWE title not just because of the Money in the Bank contract but also because he's worthy in general as an awesome competitor and main eventer.
That will do it for this week's issue. Catch RAW tomorrow night (let's all hope Edge has a great match lined up!), and check back here next week for a new
issue.
